In the frame of a contract with the ESA, Space Engineering and his controlled TeS Teleinformatica e Sistemi developed a new multibeam antenna based on an active discrete lens antenna using aperiodic (or sparse) arrays for  Ka-band multimedia applications.

Several advantages are in the project compared to previous traditional solutions. A new high-efficiency very-compact horn has been devised in order to reduce mass, volume and complexity  of the antenna structure.
